2022 F1 Esports Pro Constructors’ Champions McLaren Shadow today announces their new line-up comprising of Lucas Blakeley, Wilson Hughes and Dani Moreno. Lucas, Wilson and Dani will represent the team in the F1 Esports Pro Championship, which begins later in the year.

2022 F1 Esports Pro Drivers’ Champion Lucas Blakeley will stay with the team on a multi-year contract. Lucas, 21, from Scotland, dominated the 2022 season to clinch the title in the final race of the season, securing the double for McLaren Shadow.

Wilson Hughes, 18, continues with the team after graduating from the McLaren Shadow academy into the team roster last season. Wilson, from Scotland, has shown promising development and played an important role in the championship win. He will continue to build on his role during the 2023 season.

Dani Moreno re-joins the team after two years at Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Esports Team. Dani, 22, from Spain, is a proven race and championship winner, with accolades including being named the 2020 F1 Esports Rookie of the Year.

Lucas Blakeley, said:
“I’m really excited to be staying with McLaren Shadow. I’m so pleased to be working with Wilson again and for Dani to be joining us. I think we make a strong team.

“The people, atmosphere and team around me are just some of the many reasons I wanted to stay with McLaren Shadow with the multi-year deal. To be racing for McLaren is such an honour and I can’t wait to get stuck back in. We’ve got our sights set on bringing the Drivers’ and Constructors’ Championship titles back for a second year, particularly with it being such a big year for McLaren as we celebrate 60 years. I can’t wait to get started.”

Wilson Hughes, said:
“It’s great to be staying with McLaren Shadow for another year. I love working with everyone here and it’s exciting that Dani is joining Lucas and myself in the campaign to retain our titles. I learnt a lot from the team in 2022 and I’m looking forward to continuing to grow and take even more steps forward from last year. I’ve raced a lot in the off-season so I’m excited to hit the ground running in the F1 Esports Pro Series this season.”

Dani Moreno, said:
“It’s great to be back at McLaren Shadow. It’s a fantastic team to be a part of, and I loved my time at McLaren previously. It’s my fourth year in F1 esports and I’m as motivated as ever to keep pushing forward. I can’t wait to get re-embedded with the team and play my part in going for the back-to-back championships with Lucas and Wilson. We’ve got a great team so let’s do this.”

Lindsey Eckhouse, Director of Licensing and Digital Products, said:
“The team at McLaren Shadow are pleased to announce Lucas, Wilson and Dani as our line-up for this year’s F1 Esports Pro Championship. We’ve got a strong team to fight for back-to-back F1 Esports Pro Constructors’ Championship and we’re feeling positive for the year ahead.

“We’re thrilled that Lucas will be staying with the team on a multi-year contract, not only due to his talent, but also the positivity he brings to the team. Wilson was a great asset last year and we’re all looking forward to seeing him continue to grow this year. It’s also brilliant to welcome Dani back, he’s won a championship with his previous team and has some great experience under his belt. McLaren Shadow has some exciting things on the horizon this year so let’s get going.”
